The hosts of Casa do Ameal provided us charming accommodations during the week my husband, 8-year old daughter and I stayed there. This is an incredible property in a beautiful area. You expect it to be noisy, just off the main road into Viana, but it is actually very peaceful. A group of Finnish painters visited Casa do Ameal in June 2009. We found the place excellent! The traditional surroundings were great: old, well-cared houses, large green garden full of trees and flowers.
