I have a few things to say on this hotel, we've been going there for years and will keep going back for years to come. The breakfast is great- the scrambled egg is the best we've ever had abroad! (mums favourite) and Dad raves about the club sandwich (whenever he has one anywhere, 'its not as good as alto lidos!'... more
It is a cool and not very expensive hotel, near the Pestana hotel... It is a calm hotel and you can rest and stay comfortably for few euros... It have a pool and a bar and it is easy to meet people there... I do not know more what to say about it... but I have to because of this... more
My wife and I stayed in July 2008 at the Hotel Alto Lido by way of an exchange through RCI with our Cabo timeshare. We were put in an old, tired room, "where all RCI guests are housed". Dirty rug. I got a room with AC @ 60 euro/night. Some rooms have AC and cost a little more than the other rooms. The other rooms have a kitchenette and no AC. Although the hotel has 4 stars it's not a fancy place, but the staff is friendly. The hotel is located about 1 hour walk from the center of Funchal.... more
