The location is fantastic. We stayed in January and our room was well heated and had a great view through an ivy entwined window. Breakfast is great, lots of fresh fruits and several kinds of very good fruit juice (among the normal ingredients of a European breakfast.) The employees are very kind and professional. English is no problem. Asking for... More

We had several wonderful days at this beautifully located pousada. The views in all directions from the room and various patios gave us many memorable moments and are a great delight and lasting memory. The room was fine and the staff very helpful. The ajoining historic chapel and castle/fortress on the hilltop contributed to the richness of the experience. More

We stayed here on the first night of a week-long tour of Northern Portugal. Very convenient from Lisbon airport. We drove down via Setubal and had a look at the Pousada there and thought we'd perhaps made a mistake in not booking Setubal. However, when we arrived at Palmela, we were not disppointed - the situation is terrific - high... More

While the location is fantastic, this Pousada is in need of an update. The rooms are big, the separate bathroom was very clean, but the rooms have a tired feel about them. We were greeted by a musty odour which soon revealed itself to be a dirty rug on one side of the bed. Once the rug had been removed... More

Dear Guest, We are glad you have enjoyed your overall stay at Pousada Castelo de Palmela and that you have appreciated the setting. We would like to inform that we will take into consideration your comments on the next recovering plan for this Pousada. The Pousada results of adaptation works of a 500 year old Convent, next to the Palmela... More

We stayed one night in this Pousada out of season. It is built on top of a hill with amazing views across the river estuary and the town, especially at night with the lights twinkling. The hotel has been built by converting a monastry and is steeped in history. We booked a superior room which was gorgeous and less than... More

Dear Customer, we are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you very much for the positive comments about the hotel in general. A person really has to experience a Pousada to know what it means. We hope to be able to welcome you again in a near future. Best wishes! More

We stayed in kingsize suit. It's really spacious and nicely decorated. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Pousada is conveniently located on a quite hill with a view and is good to explore Lisbon area, not staying in dirty capital. Take a boat trip from Setubal port (10 min drive from hotel) to Troya on your car. It has... More

We have spent years staying at Pousadas in Portugal. Unfortunately, it seems that many are now in great need of renovation, and we were very dissapointed this time around. We arrived late night to Castelo Palmela. The elevators were broken, there was a very loud wedding going on and many flying bugs in the lobby. The bathrooms in the lobby... More

We primarily chose this Pousada for our last night in Portugal because of its easy access to the Lisbon airport. However, it deserves to be considered as a place to stay to see the area. If you get there by driving through the town, be prepared to thread your way between parked cars on narrow streets where the walls of... More

We stayed at the pousada the night before our flight home. It's an easy drive to the airport of about 30 minutes (not at rush hour). The hotel staff were very helpful with directions. When they found out the evening before we would have to leave before the restaurant opened for breakfast they made arrangements for the gentleman at the... More

I stayed at this pousada last summer, and cannot begin to tell you how unbelievably fantastic the inn was. The manager was a truly delightful woman, the accommodations were superior. This is one of the best experiences with a hotel I have ever had, if not THE best, and I've stayed at plenty of "great" hotels. The restaurant was not... More
