Nice room in a bit of a strange building. But we had a great view over the square and were literally around the corner from the Rossio metro station and a busy taxi stand. Right in the middle of it all. Good windows limited the street noise.

Very nice place, close to the castle and to Augusta Street. The Sightseening Bus stops in front of the hotel. Very clean inside, with a nice hot shower. The room was a little too small... There are a lot of restaurants close to the hotel.

Yes our room was up 96 steps (4th floor). Yes we had to open the balcony door to let the air - and plaza noise - in. However the door was double glazed and sound-proofed the room when shut. We stayed here for 2 nights in April and I was very impressed, the room was clean and adequate, we had a private bathroom. The reception staff were excellent, advising us on where to catch trams to see the sights of Lisbon. Mostly pluses here: -location is soooo central...we were on 4th floor facing figuera square (our small balcony was a nice touch but only a few rooms have one) -staff at reception were mostly helpful...the white woman with freckles was very nice/helpful while the black girl had abit of an attitude at times. -room was clean -cheap beer available at reception... I have rated this five stars because this hotel was perfect for me. Friendly staff, very clean. Free WiFi. Not totally quiet, but quieter than expected, both from the hall and the street. Definitely recommend it. I wouldn't choose this place for a romantic getaway, but for a cheap place to stay in Lisbon, it was perfect.
