We stayed in Lisbon in May 2011 as we were going to the Moto GP in nearby Estoril. We had actually booked in to another hotel nearby but it was awful. We were a little worried as is meant we would have to try and find something quickly ( my husband and i don't like to do things last minute... More

This is a very reasonably priced hotel, well located within easy walking distance of the fascinating Bairro Alto district in Lisbon. The hotel is located in an historic mansion. Fortunately, it has not been modernized in the antiseptic, chrome-plated way so many older hotels in Europe seem to have been in the past 10 years. It is perfectly comfortable for... More

This was a great place with just a few caveats. The staff was very helpful, nice and willing to go out of their way to make it a good stay. The location was fine, the breakfast nice and the overall ambiance was very enjoyable. The only negative about the place is we thought the beds were a bit hard and found... More

Casa de São Mamede is almost a second home for me. I lived there for many years as many other artists, writers, actors. But since then it has been renovated for the best. In the last decade, while organizing Doclisboa International Film festival I always insisted that our special guests (film directors, film critics, photographers, people with good taste) would... We booked this hotel based off positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We were looking for a boutique hotel in Lisbon that would provide a little charm and romance. Pros: Great location just above the Barrio Alto, near the Principe Real and several metro stops. Easy to get into the action of fun neighborhoods very quickly. Accomodating service- we had trouble with... More

Dear madm, sir, First of all thank you for your review. We are going to do our best to correct the points you considered not so good. We hope you can come back and give us a better classification. For honneymooners the better rooms are 001, 004 , 101,103,106 and 109. M.Marques More

Room 109!! Dreadful drainage smells. We had unpacked before we decided we must change rooms. Room 002 was excellent and very modern. Side street rooms are very quiet because of shutters and very good aircon. Good breakfast. Excellent location for sightseeing. More

We went on joint business/leisure. I chose this place as we wanted an experience that didn't depend on large corporate hotel chains. Partner had work at the University so this was a nice quiet area away from business, not far by taxi. We stayed here just over 2 weeks total, with a week break between the two. The staff were... It was a Lonely Planet pick and the last accommodation we had during our two weeks in Portugal, and happened to be a lovely surprise. Beautiful breakfast room, antique interior, friendly staff, and not a bad location. More

My wife and I arrived on Christmas eve day and enjoyed the hospitality of the owner at a lovely Christmas eve party. We stayed for a week. Our room was spacious, spotless, and quiet. The location is excellent. Right near the Rato metro line and walking distance to downtown. The staff was courteous and unfailingingly helpful. Due to the length... More
