I chose this hotel because it is next to the beautiful historic church/monastery. The staff was great, very helpful, a good example of the best portuguese hospitality. The hotel is very modern, free wi-fi, boutique -hotel feeling and spotless. We had a nice breakfast buffet included with our room price. There are two restaurants around the corner from the hotel,... Just to clarify, I am reviewing the restaurant at this hotel, Vintage. The restaurant at this hotel was a fantastic place to have lunch. The outside dining patio is really nice and comfortable, and gives a great view of the cathedral. Service was really good. They were very happy to help us. The food was great. I had a chicken... Our family of 4 (2 adults, 6 yr old, 3 yr old) stayed at the Mestre Afonso for 2 nights. The location is great right next to the monastery. We woke up, had breakfast and walked over before it got too crowded. It was an easy drive to other churches and sights in the area. The hotel was nice. The... More

We've stayed at the Hotel for one night, and I can say that it will be very hard to find a better quality/price relation ever. The Rooms were modern, very clean, and cosy. The beds were pretty much confortable. Staff was helpfull and friendly, giving us hints to the best places to visit nearby. The breakfast had it all. The... More

We stayed here two nights on our 16 day trip in Portugal and I picked Bataltha as a city to stay in because it was centerally located to see several sights we wanted to see on our drive down to Lisbon from the North. First of all you couldn't be closer to the monestary which made visiting it when the... More

This is the former pousada hotel, recently renovated. Very well situated and comfortable. But it could have been better, if the renovation had focused less on design and more on practical comfort. Spotlights in the bathroom leave your head in the dark; there is almost no place to work on the writing desk, and no plug socket available. One evening... More

Wonderful property. Located just beside the monastery of Batalha, in a cozy building, very well furnished and decorated. Attendants were very helpful and friendly. WONDERFUL food and desserts. Beautiful room and bathroom, very clean. 100% good things to say. Very good breakfast. Don't forget to ask the attendant at the front desk to schedule a visit to the "lagar de... More
