The hotel is far enough away from most of the bars and restaurants. The walk back up the hills is a total killer. Also Lagos seems to have muggings and alot of drug users about. Overall Hotel Montemar is a spacious and comfortable place to stay and in walking distance to the main strip. However the bed sheets upon arrival had blood stains and the hotel staff weren't very friendly which makes this an average rating. Breakfast daily is included but very basic. More

We were pleasantly surprised! We were on a budget and the montemar was the cheapest option so weren't expecting much! The pictures on the website don't do it justice, it's a very pleasant little hotel. Only downside is there is no pool. More

just returned from a weeks stay in the montemar and can't fault it for what you pay.Lovely reception area, freindly staff',o.k. rooms are a bit dated but cleaned every day with fresh towels etc.Breakfast served in basement area at the moment whilst usual area is being refurbished,wished we'd had better weather though.
