This historic hotel right next to the Castle of the charming town of Marvao in Alentejo has been renovated. Since February this year it is run by a young couple who do everything to make sure you have a comfortable stay. The hotel overlooks the bastion walls and the beautiful landscape around Marvao (an incredible walled town sitting on its...

The room was clean and well furnished. We didn't pay extra for the terrace room because the weather was...

However, this place should be at the top of the list. The staff was extremely friendly and we paid 4 euros more for the double room with the terrace. If it had...

The Casa Don Dinis, aka Pensao Don Dinis, is a small pension just a few yards from the castle in the hilltop medieval town of Marvao. My wife and I stayed there for one night and really enjoyed the place. Our upstairs room had a very comfortable double bed plus bathroom (shower, WC, hairdryer) and was attractively furnished in a...
