What a wonderful experience! The Royal Stewart is located within a five-minute walk from the center of town in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed in a beautiful second-floor room with en suite bath that offered very comfortable beds in an old-world European setting. Maggie is an amazing host, as many other reviewers have noted. She was full of recommendations for... More

This is a great place to stay in Bruges. We stayed here in 2009 and have sent friends and family to The Royal Stewart. No one we sent has ever been disappointed. Our soon to be daughter-in-law traveled with us and she took our son to visit Maggie on their honeymoon. Maggie is a great hostess. She is willing to... More

As so many others have, I must start by praising Maggie's wonderful hostessing skills. Along with her spot-on recommendations, she went above and beyond, loaning one of her own coats to my mother, as it was quite windy, cold, and rainy during our visit. This made our visit so much better! The room we were originally scheduled to have was... More

Had a most enjoyable stay. Maggie is a great hostess, supplying a great breakfast, fabulous recommendations of sights, restaurants and stories to keep you entertained. The room was very cozy, with a kettle, tea and biscuits to enjoy when you get back from a busy afternoon of sightseeing. We had the only room that didn't have a bathroom in the... More

Excellent hospitality. Quaint, back in time experience. Delightful hostess with fantastic recommendations for dinner including Restaurant Willemijn and Tom's Diner. She handled our reservations like a family member. Maggie has a wonderful disposition and welcoming heart. We were there on the cusp on the season so we were cold one night, but the extra blankets showed up. Nice breakfast and... More

Such a nice place to stay. very charming and quaint. Maggie the host is so so helpful and makes you feel so welcome. Rooms were very nice. Top floor is hard to get to with luggage is you are not good with narrow stairs and carrying your luggage. So ask for a downstairs floor if need be. Great location away... More

This is a lovely B&B right in the middle of the historic old city of Bruges, run by a lovely Scottish lady who made us really welcome and went the extra mile to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. You can walk round the whole city centre from here, and there are loads of cafes and restaurants, shops, visitor attractions,... More

What more can I add? Staying at the Royal Stewart was the best choice we could have made! Maggie is nothing shy of wonderful! From the moment she opened the door and welcomed us in, to the morning we left after a heartfelt hug, our stay was great. She gave my daughter a room of her own, rather than staying... More

My parents and I stayed 2 nights instead of 3 due to plane issues and Maggie was wonderful about it. She made our stay great from the beginning of giving us a double room and and a single room instead of the triple. She also tended to my mother's leg injury with such care and concern. What a delight the... More

Booked this B&B after reading all the positive comments on TA, and have t agree it's one of the best we have stayed in at such a reasonable price. The only complaint I would make is that we should have stayed more than 2 nights!! Maggie is a rare gem and very entertaining at breakfast time when she will sit... More
