We did not actually stay at Cecilia, but wish we had -- the room is in a garden courtyard. It is beautiful. And Quiet. Bruges is all stone, including underfoot. This means that (a) cars and trucks make a considerable amount of noise and (b) gardeners (like me) may become starved for a view of colour. It was the flowers in the courtyard that caught my attention as my husband and I were walking down the street. As we paused to peer through Cecilia's gate to get a better view the owner, Paul De Corte, arrived home and kindly invited us in to take a closer look.
It is a gorgeous spot. Lovely flowers. Beautiful silence. The apartment (one only) is in its own tiny little house with its own entrance at the back of the courtyard. It is freshly renovated inside and has everything a guest could want, even internet. Furthermore, there's a very decent sized supermarket just 1.5 blocks away and the main square is only 600m away.
