it's a quite old hotel but the personal is really friendly. The only good thing is that is close to the center. I dont think this hotel is good for businnes trip, maybe it's better for romantic weekend. The breakfast is too much poor.

The room was very spacious the bed was really good. Staff was perfect, always ready to help. Located right in the middle of Ghent. However, the room in the ground floor is right in front of the maids room. On the morning they talk outside the room and make a lot of noise.

Arrival and check in was quick and efficient, private parking opposite the hotel was very welcome. Room was good and had all we needed for our two night stay, however, remember to take a travel kettle, mugs, coffee etc as like most hotels on the Continent these are not provided as standard. If you forget, there is a great little... More

I'll start with the good...the staff was really helpful and nice. They were consistently friendly and knew the area. They were a true asset and generally enhanced our experience. The location is also excellent. It's in the middle of the historic district and is an easy walk to the tram and several other interesting locations. The breakfast is alright. It... More

This hotel was very satisfactory and cost effective; the rooms were comfortable and had character (I was in the wing with rooms named after composers rather than room numbers). A nice breakfast was offered for an additional 8 euros/day. There is a small outdoor patio in the middle of the hotel for breakfast and relaxation on nice days. There was... More

We arrived quite late (8.30) and were directed by a very nice receptionist to the garage over the road, it was pitch black and quite small - but room for our car. The hotel reception was cramped and very ordinary, the lift was tiny with only room for 1 plus a bag.Our room was on 2nd floor. It was quite... More

As soon as we walked through the front door we could tell this was not going to be good. We had just arrived from Bruges where we had stayed in a wonderful, quality hotel for less than we paid here so were not impressed. Apparently the hotel was renovated in 2010 - it seems they missed our room out. It... More

This hotel is in a great location. Has covered parking across the street from the hotel which was nice. The room was clean and warm. Price of room did not include breakfast, but was an extra 6 euro per person which was worth it. Over all a nice place to stay while in this picture perfect town.

According to some this place is the oldest hotel in Europe, dating back to the 13th century. Can't comment on that, but the building is solidly 18th century with a very beautiful period dining room. It's located immediately across from the Gent city hall (which certainly is medieval), I could see it from my bed in fact. Unlike what previous... More
