This place should not be rated a 4 star hotel. As matter of fact is barely a 3 star. I stayed there for work yesterday night and I had one of the worst stays in my life. The check in took 20 minutes. The hall and the rooms are untidy and creepy. I asked to change room since the heater... More

I stayed at the New Hotel Charlemagne earlier this week and will be avoiding the place in future. Some lowlights from my stay included a lack of working phone or internet in the room, the kitchen was closed by 8pm so they couldn't offer any food and there was a loud buzzer that repeatedly went off in the room during... The staff are ok here, especially at reception. But that fails to redeem atrocious rooms, shoddy breakfast and a worn, tired interior not cared for in decades. Room fails include a blocked basin, blown bulbs, ugly furniture, condensation and damp, no sockets, lukewarm water... Breakfast fails include inedible charcuterie and cheese, broken cereal dispensers, missing cutlery, stale pastries, sour fruit... More

We booked in to this hotel through work. When we arrived we were told that there was a "technical problem" with our rooms. Thats 5 rooms! We are booked into the hotel next door instead. The guy behind the desk looked like he couldnt care less. I honsetly think he might have just not been bothered making up our rooms... More

Newhotel Charlemagne is really close to the European Comission, so perfect located for those who has a meeting there as we did. We stayed there just for one night and got the room on the second floor. Room was really poor standart, ensuite bathroom was not very clean, so hardly 3 stars, rather two..So expensive minibar (the most expensive I've... More

The hotel is next to the European Commission, about 100m from the Metro station and within easy reach of plenty of restaurants in the neighbourhood. There is also a bus station around the corner. Rooms are quite spacious, modern, clean, air conditioner working and bathroom also clean. We have absolutely no problems with the facility but the gadgetry, services and... More

We were advised to go to Brussels on the weekend when many of business hotels drop their rates significantly.  On checking, we found this to be the case at the New Hotel Charlemagne. There was a substantial discount compared to their rack rates.  For a couple of Euros extra go for the business room. The hotel is located close to... More

The hotel has perfect position for activities organised by the European Commission and good location close (only 5 min on foot) to metro station Schuman but it's not the city historic center. The price for rooms are reasonable. The staff at the fornt desk were firendly, always disposal for the guests. The standard room are unfortunatelly very old and tained,... More

This is the second time I stayed in this hotel for close to q seek and it confirmed my experience from the first time last year. The location is excellent if you need to be close to the principal EU buildings. There are also a bunch of restaurants, bars and breakfast places in the immediate vicinity which is good as... More

I guess it depends on value for this place. Me and a buddy booked this place awhile ahead over a weekend. Since no rich dignitaries (near the EU Parliament) are there then it was really cheap. Ended up being 65 Canadian dollars a night. We stayed 3 nights. It wasn't luxurious by any means but it got the job done.... More
