We stayed in a very large and spacious room with a comfortable bed. The TV had excellent picture quality and many channels, including BBC1, which meant we could watch Dr. Who (a Saturday institution in our family!) The walls were a bit thin, meaning we could hear other guests snoring.

There was an excellent breakfast, with plenty of choice. Staff were a bit ‘offish’ and did not make us feel welcome, we felt we were putting them out just by staying in their hotel!

Enkhuizen itself is a lovely coastal town, full of charm. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, and thousands of boats of all sizes on the numerous canals which crisscross the town. It was easy to get to by train from Amsterdam.
