The Plantage took some locating as we opted to lug our suitcases round most of Amsterdam instead of getting the tram to straight outside the hotel (big mistake) The location is ideal, just a few minutes to Dam Square, red light area and the tourist shops and bars. The plantage was an excellent hotel to stay at the rooms are really big compared to any other european hotels, and are well equiped. you are given your own door keys to come and go as you please which is really helpfull. the room was very clean on arrival with seperate toilet and shower facilites. Not sure where other people stayed... i don't think it was Hotel Plantage... The guys in the reception couldn't have been nicer. Check-in was at 2 but we got there at about 11am... This was one of the wost hotels we stayed at. The staff was the most threatening, rude, and criminal minded. He took more money from us that was agreed with Hotels.com and did not provide a receipt. He was taking advantage of several customers that were white Americans, I think. Room was not clean, straight out of a junk yard... more
