I stayed in a spacious room which is part of the hotel but a couple doors down. Had my own toilet and bath.The great thing is it is close walking distance to the museums and just a 20 minute walk to downtown Amsterdam or you can take the trams which are in walking distance to the hotel. The hotel was super easy to get to, and was within walking distance of many of the attractions. Anything that was farther away was easily reachable via tram or canal bus, both having stops very close by. The single room was very small, but clean. If you don't spend a lot of time in the room, it serves it's purpose.... more

We stayed at Asterisk during Queensday and it was great! Rooms are nice, clean and large enough. The good things about this hotel are that it’s in a quiet location of Amsterdam but within walking distance to many of the attractions. A couple of different tram lines also stop nearby to take you to attractions further afield. Location is excellent - very quiet road (apart from cats yowling outside 2 nights out of 3!), easy walk to Albert Cuyp (market, Surinamese restaurants), museums etc. Trams 16, 24, 25 from Centraal Station.
