i stayed at the hans brinker from feb19th until feb 22nd 2007. It was a college trip. After a terrible bus journey we finally arrived and first impression was that it wasnt that bad. There is the bar area which isnt too bad, a late night disco which is downstairs and then reception. The rooms are not that bad, we... More

I read all these reviews before going to Hans Brinker, and as a bit of a clean freak i was not looking forward to staying there, i packed my own sleeping bag, pillow, towel and even flash disinfectant wipes!!! I was shocked when i got there to find it very clean! The tables in the bar, the lifts etc are... More

This was my introduction into Europe Hostels. I would rather pluck out my own fingernails and dip my hands into salt water, than stay here again. The place was a dirty filthy hovel. The bathrooms are disgusting. If I wasn't so terrified of filth would love to take a swab and an agar plate to see just how bad they... More

Cheap accommodation, rooms clean, small private bathroom, very noise at night and first thing in the morning, lockers available (some were not working), bar upstairs with happy hour and a club downstairs open until 5am. Good location within walking distance of centraal station, dam square etc. As it is a hostel you get what you pay for, suitable for younger... More

Hm-This place was very interesting. We had a goup of 5 staying over New Years and the only reaosn we picked it was it had private rooms avaiable at a normal price for the holiday time. We only had to pay a 50 Euro surcharge per person for the New Years Eve Party. The place is sort of like a... More

I stayed at the Hans Brinker as part of a tour that my company sent me on. I would not have chosen it for myself, but as I was there, I thought it would be worthwhile to put down my thoughts. I have stayed in a number of hostels, and this was the first one that actually lived up to... More

First up let me say that my review of the Hans Brinker Hotel is based on the fact that it is a "hostel" and not really a hotel as the property itself states. A group of four of us stayed two nights during the weekend. Our two rooms were on the top floor of the building (4th floor) and it... More

Just returned from my stay at the Hans Brinker hostel, seems I've had it easy in comparison to others. I stayed there with my college so didnt have the problem of staying with strangers. My inital reaction to arriving to the hostel 10.30pm sunday night was 'run-down'. I had imagined it to be posher! But having not stayed at a... More

This is quite simply the worst hotel on earth. The inside decor is vile and mouldy. The staff are the most unhelpful I've ever come across. Most girls staying on their own don't feel safe... and the staff aren't willing to help them or move them to another room, so you have to stay in a room with any kind... More

I was very disappointed with the Hans Brinker. I've stayed in budget hotels before, but this was the worst ever. I booked 5 days there and had to leave after 2 because I couldn't take it anymore. If you want to rest, forget it, the hostel is loud 24 hours a day. People yelling inside and outside, doors opening and... More
