"The Albus is a well-kept secret, known only by the more experienced and demanding travellers" Come on ! Let's say it straight: - super noisy (the "night kit" we found in our room was a bad sign). If your room is on the street side, you'd betternhave a very strong sleep. The Tram is almost passing by your pillow! -... More

Dear Ggpublic, It's a pity to hear you did not have a pleasant stay at The Albus! Last week we have been completely restyling (including painting) our apartments in the building next to The Albus. We were not aware that the smell was so strong that the hotelrooms nextdoor were bothered and I feel very sorry for that! The noise... More

Recently (31/01/12) spent a night at the Hotel Albus. We arrived early (1100) and due to many checking out at that time our rooms were not ready so we stored our luggage and with the instructions and map provided by the very helpful desk clerk set off sightseeing. The clerk had given us brief instructions on use of the city... More

Proved to be very inflexible on room booking terms. After a lot of persuasion they offered free breakfast in lieu of a credit for a colleague booking had to be cancelled as his father died x2 days before our trip. Dont fall for the "upgrade" which is a cold flat up ridiculously steep steps next door. Glad i was only... More

I am sorry to read about your dissappointment as the person who booked the three rooms agreed top accept breakfast for all as a gesture of goodwill from our side. The rooms that were booked were all booked as "Best Deal". When making the booking, it is clearly explained that no cancellation or change may be made after booking. This... More

We stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our break.Modern hotel with nice room which was well equipped and was very quiet considering city centre location. The bed was particularly comfortable. The staff were very helpful and efficient.Breakfasts were excellent and set us nicely up for the day.Hotel location could not be better for exploring Amsterdam and I would not hesitate... Stayed here last weekend, booked the Fashion package which included a quarter bottle of Prosecco (not adequate) and breakfast on one morning which we didn't partake of. The hotel is lovely and staff amazing. So attentive and professional. The room was ok, we upgraded upon suggestion at arrival and we were glad we did as the rooms are small. The... More

Dear Robert, Thank your for your valuable feedback and I hope you appreciate the gesture regarding the Fashion Week Package mentioned in our e-mail correspondence. We are also working on effective regulations to avoid the noise that you have suffered from early mornings, this sure is unecessary! We hope to welcome you again in The Albus soon. More

I stayed for the weekend in this January, and liked Albus since the location is great. I had booked one of their "smart city rooms", and it was small but ok (I traveled alone). It was quite cold, that must be said. I loved their breakfast - good coffee, huge buffet. It cost about 15 euros, but I would recommed... More

Stayed two nights here over a weekend in mid january 2012 @79€/night. I found it on a discount site but then it was cheaper to book on their own website?? I booked their 'smart city room' we got no. 606 which was small but trendy and kind of cool with a little balcony- but it was too freezing to spend... More

The centrum location is very well located and close to the tram and easy to walk to all major sites/locations. The service was very hospitable and friendly. The room are very clean, updated though not large; especially if you get a basic room. I paid less than $100/night; so the I thought this was great value. The only downside for... More

I'm a positive guy but the experience at the Albus left much to be desired. I stayed on company's dime for 2 night and then one night on my own. First off, I was charged a whopping 159€, a daylight robbery for what the hotel provides. There is no in-room wireless Internet, but very slow wired Internet is provided with... More

Dear guest. There is wired internet and free access to Wi-Fi in the public areas. Guest forgets that we have to invest a lot of money (over € 50,000) to provide Wi-Fi and wired internet access. Not the €10- 20 per month people pay at home. The discounted rate we negotiated with a local Gym is just a service to... More

Spent one night at this boutique hotel in November 2011, with some work mates. Very well located, polite and helpful staff, enormous room with several amenities.
