The entrance is a small storefront on wonderful Rembrandt Square - tourist central. Fun shops and restaurants on tiny little streets abound.
Public transport is easy with Tram #9 passing by every few minutes (have Euros in hand). We took it to Amsterdam Central Station and got on a train to Haarlem to visit Corrie ten Boom Museum (amazing!). Don't...

Unfortunately I couldn't choose hotels, because I wouldn't have chosen a hotel from the NH chain again, but as this was a business trip I took what was booked.
Upsides: it is located on Rembrandtplein (Rembrandt Square) which is sort of the very center.
Downsides: to be located at the very center is a downside, if the hundreds of bars...

I stayed there for 2 nights on a leisure trip to Amsterdam.
Receptionist was professional, efficient, but not excessively friendly. Don't expect service with a smile. Free WiFi in the lobby, but a charge applies in the rooms.
One single lift for all of the hotel. Room was spacious, big bed, comfortable mattress, but pillow felt as if it was...

My boyfriend and I were meant to be staying at NH Schiller, just across the square. But, bizarrely, our booking wasn't on their system, and it took them a good hour to figure out what had happened. We'd booked through Hotels.com, which seemed to really confuse them! We had to send the woman at reception copies of the emails we...

good hotel with central location - nice, big and clean rooms, good breakfast;
when good weather sometimes noisy at night because of the pubs and terraces at the Rembrandt plein, but hotel provides ear guards in the room

This hotel is situated above the three sisters pub in rembrandtplein square. Its in a central location and is within walking distance of loads of desired tourist attractions. Its only about 10-15 mins walk back to central station and trams go right past the hotel (although we didn't need them). There were just two of us there and we're both...

We stayed at the hotel during a festival on Rembrant Plain, and we managed to sleep... Nice and clean rooms. Typical in Holland, don't expect to get anything for free - wifi stupendous expencive except in the lobby (free). Breakfast also too expencive, but very good alternatives just outside.

First let me say that the hotel itself is very nice. We were initially given a room that was very small. We requested something else, and the staff were very friendly and gave us a different room. The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. BUT, the hotel is located right on Rembrandtplein, which is the 2nd most...

I hadn't been to Amsterdam for years so booked a hotel on Dam Square. The hotel itself was clean and well kept but it was a bit of a long walk from Centraal station and all of the sleazy areas that I love to visit.. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were basic but had everything you'd...
