This hotel is the perfect example of how to provide everything a traveler needs at a reasonable price. The room was small, but very clean with a comfortable bed. While the bathroom was tiny, it had a strong, hot shower and clean towels. I asked for a room off the main street that runs in front of the hotel and... More

I stayed here for a few days in Groningen, which is a delightful city by the way. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the station and is well placed for bars and restaurants. I booked it as a budget stay and was pleasantly surprised by the foyer, restaurant and bar area which seem to belong to a much... More

I was working at the university, i could get a bus from the university to the front door of the hotel. It is also a short walk into the center of the town. The hotel was very nice, it had a restaurant attached to it and a nice bar too. the room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were... More

We were guests here on new years evening '11/'12 and were impressed by the hospitality of the staff. It was a busy evening, with lots of guest arriving and even an accident that happened on the hotel's doorstep. Nevertheless the front-desk employee was calm and very friendly. We got one of the hotel's bikes free of any charge and enjoyed... More

Was a bit put off by the prior comments but we found the hotel to be just what we needed. We stayed four nights (2xcouples) and had a great time. The hotel is walking distance from town which was very convenient. Our Rooms were in the new part of the hotel and were perfect - very large double, TV, Bathroom... More

The Martini hotel is quite close to the rail station and closer still to the centre of town. I chose a comfort room that has been updated and better than the standard room. The shower/ WC is very small and not very good really. It could have been a bit better. The rooms at the back of the hotel are... More

The hotel is central, but rally need to to be modernised.I was staying in the standard rooms which really are cramped. Check-in and staff very pleasant. The hotel is part of a bar and food place with the rooms upstairs. More

Over the years I have stayed in almost all hotels in Groningen and they all seem to be below standard for the price you pay. The same with this hotel. The bar and restaurant are spacious and pleasant but the rooms seem to have sacrificed some basics for this. My room was very basic with low light and a dull... More

The lobby / restaurant / bar is a very enjoyable place to have drinks and the breakfast buffet is really good and generously appointed and serves until late in the morning. Rooms are very basic, small, cheap and poorly appointed, but clean. Some of us were cold in the evening and asked for heating, the front desk answered that "we... More

I stayed here for one night for a work trip. Looks great on the outside. Inside, it was clean but everything looks cheap. The bedside light didn't work and I have a general memory of everything being a bit gloomy. There was adequate hot water in the shower but breakfast was disappointing. Would do for an overnighter if you're stuck. More
