I stayed for four nights in Spring Cottage. Gary and Noleen are superb hosts, welcoming and friendly. The cottage is immaculate and my room with ensuite was well appointed and cosy. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, plenty of choice, including vegetarian, and cooked and presented beautifully. I thoroughly recommend a stay in this B & B.

A very welcoming stay with Garry and Noleen. Spring Cottage is a very clean and comfortable place to unwind and relax. We spent 2 nights and enjoyed it Immensely. It is well situated and not far from Bakewell and Buxton. The village is quiet but has a Chippy, shop, Post Office and Pub. We had evening meals at the Packhorse pub which is just outside Longnor. It's a free house with some local micro brewery ales and great meals on offer. You'll be lucky to get a phone signal in most of the area, however WIFI is provided so it is easy to keep in touch with the outside world. Of special note is the breakfast, do yourself a favour and take advantage of them as they are excellent, the eggs are all provided by Garry and Noleens hens and which ever way you choose to have them they will be cooked to perfection. We could not of been happier with our stay at Spring Cottage and thought it was excellent value for money. So if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area book Spring Cottage, you won't be disappointed. The pic is from the bedroom window we stayed in.

Although it only has two rooms the hospitality, location, views and spectacular scenery are more than enough. Very quiet location lead to a good night sleep, had a day exploring the Peak District and another walking Miller's Dale. Breakfast here was made to order and of very high quality, I judge breafast on the quality of the sausage - these were local and excellent! Went in the local pub (The Cheshire Cheese) on both the Friday and Saturday nights - some "interesting" characters in there, beer was good though! If we return to the area we'd happily stay at Spring Cottage again

We stayed for two nights. The location was ideal for exploring the beautful Peak District. The hosts were very welcoming. The bedroom and en suite shower room, though not particularly large, was very clean and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfasts were extremely good with a varied selecion of choice. The view from the bedroom window was stunning We look forward to our next visit.

We only stayed one night at Spring Cottage, but I would have stayed a week. It was our favorite B&B of our two week trip. Thirty minutes west of Chatsworth, Longnor is the quintessential small English village, surrounded by pastures. Spring Cottage sits at its edge. Our window looked over the garden, and the room was nicely furnished and comfortable. When we arrived, the house smelled of freshly baked bread, which showed up on our breakfast table the next morning, alongside homemade preserves and fresh eggs. We were charmed. A truly wonderful place to stay. One note of warning: the roads will try to kill you. Very narrow, curving, and steep. It's good fun, but as our host, Gary, said, "Try not to drive them at night."

Just returned from a weekend in Derbyshire - we had two nights at Spring Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Garry and Noleen were super hosts - really welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is excellent - we had the double room with separate bathroom - supplied with everything you need, nice toiletries, fluffy towels and bathrobes. Fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge on the landing. The breakfast was fantastic - all good quality produce including eggs from the hens in the garden. Really good choice of breakfasts too which was lovely, the filled staffordshire oatcake was delicious and very filling .... no need for lunch! Would highly recommend this accommodation and the village of Longnor is lovely too - two pubs, a general store and a lovely little cafe run by a really friendly couple. A great base for exploring the Peak District. Linda and Andrew

Helpful host and lovely location on edge of Longnor, a quiet village with pub and post office and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our room was fairly small but spotless and equipped with everything we needed plus a view of the hills. Breakfasts were outstanding: fresh eggs from owner's chickens [we'd met them in the garden the previous evening!] and an unusually wide choice including fresh grapefruit, smoked haddock and lavishly filled Staffordshire oatcake. It was unusual to experience the Peak District during a heatwave but we shall enjoy returning to Spring Cottage whatever the weather.

My parents and younger sister and partner stayed here for a birthday present for my Father's 80th Birthday. They came back with nothing but PRAISE for the establishment and it's owners. It was immaculate, friendly, good quality food and nothing was too much trouble. Very helpful in giving information on where to eat and where to go. Would highly recommend Many Thanks, my parents had a wonderful time

We (my best mate) and I headed to the area to celebrate my 30th and where intending on a weekend of camping. However, after a cold night in a local campsite we decided to look for a B & B online. We saw this and decided to book before reading any reviews. We turned up an hour later to be greeted by Noleen. Although the booking confirmation hadn't made its way to the owners they where more than happy for us to come in and even made us a pot of tea with biscuits whilst they prepared the room. The room was spotless, warm and inviting. Just what we needed after the previous night. We stayed in the double room with the separate bathroom. This place has thee best shower I have ever had (even beating the Malmaison!) and the bathrobes where a nice surprise too. Garry and Noleen where very attentive hosts and even offered to book us a table at the local restaurant. We decided to head into the village for something to eat and drink settling on The Old Cheshire Cheese which is about a 5 minute walk. When we returned we found fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge on the landing. Needless to say with full tummy's and after a few drinks we where both out like a light. Breakfast the next morning was something I would go back for in a heartbeat. Perfect eggs, home made muesli and warm toast! To sum this place up into one word = Perfect. I will definitely be returning next time I am in the area.

Garry and Noeleen are great hosts. They have thought of everything, from wifi in the rooms to fresh milk in the fridge just outside the bedroom door and delicious biscuits... The room was clean, warn and comfortable with a lovely view and the breakfast was fantastic. Full english with perfectly cooked poached eggs and hot toast. Longnor is a lovely little village with a couple of pubs, a post office, tea room and great fish and chip shop. Fantastic walks in the area. Just remember to wrap up warm. Zoe
