We (me, my wife and my son) travelled for 12 days in August 2011 all over Europe. In brief, our trip was as follows: Munich, South Bavaria (Hohenschwangau - Neuschwanstein Castle region), Milan, Zurich and back to Munich to fly back home to Moscow. More than 3000 km in magnificent Infiniti M30d. And our several days stay in Storchen Zurich...

What can I say! This perfectly located, boutique hotel, maintains a wonderful homely feeling which together with the ever friendly and genuine service, makes for a perfect stay.
There should be more hotels like this! It has never lost it's touch and remains, a treasure!

This is a lovely hotel with traditional atmosphere. The location is both central and charming, right on the river and in between the main shopping district and the old town. Both within a few hundred meters.
Breakfast was included, as was WiFi. Breakfast held very high quality. For a hotel at this price level you expect the best, and with...

I stayed on 8th November for 4 nights at this high quality hotel, perfectly located right in the middle of downtown Zuerich, close to business centre, shopping, sightseeing etc. Swiss myself and living abroad, I value high end swiss quality when visiting Switzerland. The hotel is run perfectly, offers the positive side of "Swissness", the service is 5star value. My...

We recently visited Zurich and chose the Storchen(English meaning, Stork). The location was perfect, in the center of Zurich, with great shopping and sight-seeing nearby. Though pricey(even for Switzerland), their service is terrific, and our room(newly decorated), which was a Junior Suite, left nothing to be desired. Their Swiss-style buffet breakfast was very good. If you can afford it, this...

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Storchen Hotel in a river view room in August. This high quality hotel is in a great position and has a wonderful dining terrace. When I told the breakfast waitress that I was lactose intolerant, she organized lactose free yoghurt for me and even gave me 2 small cartons in ice...

Dear Susann
thank you very much for your comments on our hotel and I am very happy my staff was thoughtful and helpful. This should be the kind of service we are aiming to give and it is great to see that it works.
I wish you all the best and hope to see you again.
Best regards

We didn't stay at the hotel but had drinks at the bar downstairs next to the river on both days we were in Zurich, it was so nice. Stop here for a picturesque drink. The waiters are fast, attentive and polite - we only had 2 drinks one afternoon, but when we returned the next day the waiter remembered our...

Having concluded four Spanish itineraries, I now propose a tour around the country in which the modern notion of vacationing first arose. (Cf. my book RUSH TO THE ALPS). The first thing to keep in mind is that the eighteenth century motto "Pas d'argent, point de Suisse" (No money, no Switzerland) applies today in spades. For a quarter of a...
