Lovely hotel, great fixtures and fittings, great location, helpful staff but the walls and floors are poorly insulated and the boiler does not service the hotel adequately. Everything is excellent about this hotel. All except two staff who worked during breakfast. Grumpy and sometimes rude. But the food was excellent and the staff did not keep up with replenishment. But forgive them. The owner needs a special mention. He is one of the finest gentleman you can ever meet. more

This hotel was a great find in a sea of mediocrity of accomodations in Zermatt. Although Zermatt is expensive in general, many of the hotels that are relatively affordable are not clean or charming. Hotel staff greated us warmly in their oh so cool lobby space...clean, euro-chic with excellent fireplace. We had a room on a high floor with an excellent view of the Matterhorn...which on arrival was equipped with a half bottle of wine, snacks and chocolate - freshly prepared.
