This was a really nice hotel and only ten minutes walk from the train station but there are also courtesy phones in the tourist office at the train station that you can use and they will come collect you. The staff were really friendly and the hotel was nice and cosy especially with a rustic feel but yet mordern. I... More

On arrival we were not disappointed with the hotel - as described, it is modern with a rustic feel and very charming. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the hotel has a relaxed feel. The location is a bit out of town but only a few minutes very pleasant walk along the river so it isn't a problem.... More

Dear Amanda Thank you for your review. We are sorry that the room didn't fit your needs. Our superior rooms are between 20.4 - 25m2, as described on our website. The criteria for the room category is based on: floor, size, view, balcony, shower, facing and volume. Your room was on a higher floor, with a larger volume and matterhorn... More

Me and my girlfriend had our first trip to Zermatt and were not familiar with the city soroundings. Even though situated outside the main buzz of the centre, Hotel Phoenix has a good location for skiers and other holidaymakers alike. Only a short (all though steep) walk to the ski bus, which runs every 5-10 minutes. The hotel appears as... More

Stayed at Hotel Phoenix with my two boys age 19 and 21 and had a great time this past week. Hotel built in 2009 and owner (Josepf) really did his homework designing the place - nice ski & boot storage area near front of hotel, rooms laid out great with modern swiss style features including bathroom, nice open and bright... We stayed at this hotel for a self-planned skiing holiday in this beautiful town. Some points to sum up our experience here: - The staff was very friendly and helpful - One can see that thought and time has been put in the choice of materials and the workmanship of the rooms and the entire hotel - quality is very... We had a very wonderful stay in this impeccable hotel. It's location was near the train station, about a 10 minute walk (although they have a small car to pick you up or will pay the taxi for you). The hotel has a cozy fireplace and bar as well. Our room was on the top floor "facing" the Matterhorn. Fabulous... More

We stayed at the Hotel Phoenix for 1 night in January. The hotel is located walking distance into town and the train station. The hotel provides a free taxi service to and from the train station on arrival/departure. On arrival, we called the hotel from the free phone at the Tourist Information Centre at the train station and were given... More

Stayed in Hotel Phoenix during ski vacation in February 2012. Hotel staff was very friendly, the room was clean with a balcony providing a nice view to the Matterhorn. Breakfast variety perfect in my opinion. As for me, the room was slightly overheated whereas my girlfriend found it to be just right so I believe this is a matter of... More

For the second half of our ski vacation, we found the Hotel Phoenix, just a short walk from the center of downtown Zermatt and the rail station. We were greeted right off the bat with an upgrade to a superior room (the mid-level) from our reserved standard room. This was a great fit for our admittedly American hotel standards. The... More
