One of the most peaceful places on earth. No hustle and bustle, just the peaceful rhythms of life in rural Umbria. The flowers blooming, the olive trees budding, and the peaceful breezes. Letizia and Ruurd work hard to offer an experience that will leave you refreshed and rested.Clean and comfortable rooms and beds, a breakfast full of homemade jams tarts,... More

We stayed here in March 2006 and promised to return; this time we brought my uncle & aunt (82 & 74) who loved it as much as we did. Letizia & Ruurd have created a simple yet elegant haven in the Umbrian countryside. It's worth the 10-15 minute drive from Assisi to enjoy this beautiful agriturismo and to meet Letizia... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here from 05/05 - 05/08. It is a bit confusing to find the place, as it is really in the hills of Umbria - this however is part of the charm. It really is a country side villa. The rooms are so beautifully decorated and the views from the window is really like a postcard... More

Our plan to spend 4 days at Alla Madonna turned into 9 after I fell in Rome and broke my ankle. Letizia and Ruud provided a wonderful, peaceful spot that was just what we needed after the dissapointment we felt when we couldn't continue our trip as planned. Their concern and kindness (and their ability to help us through the... More

We learned so much and had a fantastic and fun day. From the moment you meet Letizia you feel as though you have known her forever. She I so informative and really knows her stuff. I have already ordered my pasta maker to make the wonderful raviolis. Thank you again Letizia for one of our most memorable days in Umbria!!

My wife & I spent two nights here in November. The B&B is a little hard to get to, but it's actually quite close to Assisi and Santa Maria degli Angeli. Letizia and Ruud are wonderful hosts. The B&B is very low-key & relaxing. You feel as if you are a special house guest rather than a paying customer, indeed... More

Hello, My wife and I visited Italy in October 2012. We live in Beijing, which is constant hustle & bustle. And even though we wanted to see Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan, we also NEEDED some quiet time to relax and actually rest. So we looked for 5 days in a tranquil setting. I thought of Assisi, and from there... More

A day to be remembered. Letizia runs the best home-style cooking course in Italy. The course starts off at an artisan delicatessen where you get to taste the goods of Italy. You choose which meats, cheeses and other bits you will use for cooking that day. At the cooking school you are greeted at the front door by Google the... More

We spend three nights and it was a great experience. Letizia received us and was very kind and helpful giving us directions and places to visit close to the area. The whole b&b is very charming, clean and confortable. To get there is a little hard but just follow the directions and try to arrive before it gets dark so... More

After reading TripAdvisor reviews, I booked this place for 4 nights as a central stay for some trips around Umbria/Tuscany. Kind Letizia was warm and welcoming each day, and especially when we came in late from Rome. The room was very clean with a fantastic view of Assisi. The ease of parking and getting to and fro was great. Letizia... More

What a wonderful feeling to be an innkeeper so beloved by my guests! The enthusiasm, the kindness, the interest of our guests in our art, nature and food culture makes all the efforts needed to run our simple B&B worthwile. We try to be green. We recycle and avoid using heavy chemicals in the house and garden. We produce all... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our home, a renovated farmhouse, is a small eco-friendly B&B near Assisi, in Umbria. The centuries-old stone house overlooks the beautiful town of Assisi. All rooms have a magnificent view of Assisi's world famous basilica, dedicated to St. Francis and housing some of Italy's most important art treasures. Our agriturismo is a quiet oasis both day and night, an ideal spot to unwind. You will awake every morning to the sights of the rolling Umbrian hills and the medieval town of Assisi perched on the Subasio mountain. You can linger for hours watching the sheep graze in the fields, sunbathe on the terracotta-paved terrace or sip a glass of wine under the grapevine arbor. If, on the other hand, you can tear yourself away from the garden and its panorama, our bed and breakfast is conveniently located to explore Umbria's beautiful medieval hill towns. Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto and Perugia, as well as Tuscany's splendid Renaissance city Siena, Cortona and the Chianti wine region are all within about an hour’s drive. If you enjoy walking, the Subasio natural park and the Franciscan Path of Peace and woodllands are only minutes away. ... more   less
