This hotel had the most character out of all six hotels my family of five stayed in while on tour. First off, this is not by any means a modern or luxurious facility. The location of the hotel is prime and that's the good news. The hotel room was a tiny box and the beds hard as a rock. We were on a tour and only stayed one night - thank goodness. The hotel staff was surly and the hotel in need of a facelift. Dingy and uninviting.

Prime location but in definite need of refurbishment and total revamp. Carpet should be removed in corridors and bedrooms and replaced with tiles and/or wood flooring. Beds were like slates and could not sleep on them. Dinners were good but breakfast very limited for different diets. Could be a gem or jewel in Assisi if given a revamp.

Rooms were nice. Our triple room was a good size. Food at the restaurant was good. Nice location to anything in Assisi. Staff was fiendly and helpful. Spent one night there. Good for a 800 year old hotel.

Il Castello Hotel was a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again! The rooms are a good size and the prices are very good. The food is also really good, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
