The Good - Modern room decor (get the rooms that face the trees, and not the side facing the courtyard or the parking lots or the narrow road) - Hotel lobby was spacious and modern - Complimentary breakfast buffet was of a good selection and adequate The Bad - No internet in room is a major draw (only internet in... Though it was a little way out of Siena, it was still a nice stop over before going to Monticatini. I found the staff helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. We had friends that were waiting for us there and as we were late the staff were more than helpful. Food was great and they even had gluten... More

This is the second time I have stayed at the Mercure Siena Degli Ulivi. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff most accommodating. We had a couple of rugby tragics travelling with us who were desperate to watch the Australian-New Zealand semi final. Setting up a room was not a problem. Unfortunately, the All Blacks defeated us. The hotel... More

When I have booked a hotel like Mercure, I expected to have at least an assistance as good as I had in Ibis Porto and also in Lisbon. But no. In this Mercure we did not have access to internet in the room, and worst than this - the internet was paid. Treatment was awful (except by the guy that... More

Room didnt smell good, room close to the place where the guests passes (no privacy at all), charged wifi (in a mercure hotel!). And, with all that problems, the hotel refused to change our room by saying that the hotel was full, which was clearly a lie. I really do not recommend the hotel. Search for another one as much... This hotel is expensive, and poor value for money. The rooms are very nice, but the breakfast and the breakfast service was very poor. The coffee and fruit juice was from a machine, and food wasn't replaced as it was used up. There were only 2 staff on breakfast duty, and they had to be asked to put out more... More

My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Mercure Siena Hotel Degli Ulivi and used this hotel as a base from which to visit Siena. We found the hotel to be up to the usual Mercure four star standard with the one fault being the unfriendly and unhelpful nature of the male staff on reception. From booking in... More

The staff had a terrible attitude and everything seemed too much trouble, from the reception, to bar staff and restaurant staff. (I noticed other reviewers had similar comments so I put this down to the hotel lack of training and disregard for feedback like this one) Poor breakfast and whilst the room appeared reasonable layout it was pretty dark even... This inexpensive hotel is located over 3 km from the old town, which puts you off when you think about the romantic dinner in one of the lovely restaurants in this medieval town. The hotel restaurant is also not a great option with a limited choice, slow service and high prices. Internet not available in the room! - lobby is... More
