We stayed at number 24, Casa Dell'Ollio in the beautiful hamlet of Montefienali from 10-19 September 2011. We had the most incredible time and would not have wanted to be anywhere else for our stay in Chianti. The hamlet is so quiet and removed, once you've sussed out where the closest shops are and where to fill up on drinking... More

We stayed at "Casa Dell'Olio, the villa was well furnished and comfortable with everything we needed for a week of peace and quiet. Our two teenagers and our eight year old daughter spent many hours in the lovely pool which we quite often had to ourselves - amazing for August! The weather was beautiful but the best part of the... Extremely quiet location on top of a mountain in a forest therefore a car is essential. The villa ( Il Frantoio) was all it needed to be and was extremely clean and well presented. The countryside around us was bueatiful and very scenic with the small towns with restaurants and bars of San Gusme, Giaole and Radda all within a... More

Montifienali is located in the heart of Tuscany with a beautiful surrounding. It's a little bit in the nowhere which means that you can't just take a walk to buy an ice-cream or so but on the other hand - you get a very calm and relaxed holiday with possibility to just be with your family! The house was clean,... More

In many ways Montefienali is a dream or fairytale, a portrait gallery of heartbreaking beauty. It mainly lingers in the memory as a paean to the power of beauty, it is also a meditation on life, tout court. The world can turn against beauty, just as it can turn against intelligence or spiritual conviction or noble ideals but there, it... More

I stayed in the Borgo at Bel Sorriso. Well, what a location! And what a drive down! Does anyone count how many breaths they take whilst driving along the approach to this magnificent beacon of Tuscan isolation? "Bel Sorriso" certainly takes the breath away on arrival. How beautifully decorated! We came here after several days in Roma and although instant... More

Montefienali is a lovely seclude village in the mountains of Tuscany. The original village dates back to the 13th century, but it was abandoned for sixty years before being restored, beginning in 2001. The restoration was completed by master craftsmen who blended the "old with the new" while respecting the historical significance of the existing structures.Today, each apartment has all... More
