We were one of three couples that shared a villa on this property for a week in early July 2008. For what we wanted, it was perfect: a comfortable villa in a beautiful and relaxing setting, and ideal as a base for touristy day trips (it's within about an hour's drive of Florence, Siena, Pisa, and a great number of picturesque small Tuscan towns). It's about a 15 minutes' drive from San Gimignano, where there's a good little supermarket (the Coop, pronounced "cope").
Sassi Bianchi ("white stones") offers a farm holiday ("agriturismo"), which in Italy means accommodation on a property that actually produces something, such as wine, olives, honey, or cheese. Our villa was right next to a vineyard, and it was just outstandingly scenic, nestled in the rolling hills in clean air under blue skies. One other villa on the property was occupied while we were there. There's a very nice large clean pool on the property, perfect for a late afternoon...
