Tucked out of the way in an old grandiose city townhouse overlooking a courtyard, La Magnolia is nonetheless right in the centre of Lucca. We stayed in the apartment for a week in late November 2011. Andrea was extremely helpful and speaks perfect English. Market is about 200 yards away as is a supermarket and pastry shop. We truly enjoyed our 3 night stay. The room was comfortable and clean and Andrea made us feel welcome. He helped us with transportation and hotel reservations. We also enjoyed the breakfast at Bar Sole down the street. Lucca was a beautiful, friendly city. We hiked and biked the ramparts. Wonderful visit. More

We stayed in their small apartment. Two teenage boys slept on a foldout couch. That's a little tough for that age, but they managed. We slept upstairs. A great, simple and affordable place. Loved the garden and the bicycles to pedal the city walls. Andrea was an exceptional host and had very helpful information about events. don't miss the Opera concerts AND the archeological digs in San Giovanni church. More

This is one of those reviews that I hesitate to write because if too many people find this jewel, it will not remain the same. The spot is ideal; the B & B is a perfect escape location and the host could not be more charming or helpful. More
