This hotel was not quite what we had expected when booking. The rooms were small and not well kept. The shower lacked a shower curtain, it also lacked enough room to keep the water in the tub, you can imagine our floods. There is a steep set of stairs leading to the lobby, which makes carrying heavy bags a chore,... More

Lovely old building in ideal city centre location. Friendly staff, clean but lacking style. Would have expected it to be about 90 euros per night NOT double that!! More

This is a real palazzo as you imagine it, slightly remote, elegant and rich, just off the Via Fillungo which is the most fashionable shopping street in Lucca, and even though Lucca is really small, you are right in the heart of it here so it's possible to pop out in the morning for a lovely walk around the walls, pop... Old residence located on Via Fillungo which happens to be the main shopping street in Lucca. We did not know this when we booked the place but it turned out to be a good central location to many of the sites in addition to all the shops and other commerce. The staff was helpful and courteous upon arrival. We arrived... More

I made my online reservation on the 15 of August for a 3 night stay in September. I received an email confirming my stay. The website and email confirmation all looked rather disorganised so I decided to call as well to make sure they had my booking. I called on three different occasions to be told that there computer system... More

Dear Alexander T! Thank you for expressing your opinion. We think it's better to clear one important thing from the begging, that the booking have NEVER been confirmed! As it was written in e-mail send to you for receiving the confirmation from the hotel we need the credit card details which could be use in case of late cancellation or... More

This is an unusual 17th Century boutique hotel. Although the entrance courtyard is rather offputting and in need of a makeover the hotel itself is lovely. The 7 rooms are all very well appointed and decorated in the style of the period. The bathrooms are modern and spacious. Breakfast is substantial with everything you could want. Lots of antiques scattered... More

I took my three teenage children to this charming hotel in August and I cannot rave enough about everything! The location is excellent, the atmosphere is romantic and mysterious ,and the setting is everything anyone would want in a small hotel in Lucca .But the most important thing is the staff! Remember first impressions are lasting ones and this hotel... More

This is supposedly a four star hotel - I do not know who they bribed as it merits 2 at best. From the arrival through the crumbling courtyard,to the no-lift access to the lobby at the top of a long narrow staircase, this was one experience not to re-live. Our room could have been charming had not the bedding been... More

This is at best a residenza or guest house, but it has none of the features one expects of its rating. The 'Palazzo' is a steep climb up to the reception area, which is staffed by one person at a desk and offers two stiff banquettes for anyone wanting to sit anywhere other than their room. Our room was dirty,... More
