Hubby and I stayed for 1 night in this hotel. We stayed in a double bed room with attached shower, but common WC. The place was well maintained and very conveniently located with respect to the railway station as well as the Duomo.
The only pet peeve we had was the number of stairs to climb to get to the...

I stayed in room marked "privato" instead of a numbered room. It was fine for a night, and only 40 euro. There was a clean, shared bathroom, and the room had a sink. It's 76 steps up a winding spiral staircase, so it's not for people with heavy luggage. The manager was very kind and has been working there since...

Good hotel with hospitality staff, value for money deal located in the center city very close to central station. But there is no lift for a third floor hotel, so with baggages difficult to manage.

Hotel Giappone is a five minute walk on one street from the train station. It is a beautiful hotel which has been completely remodeled very tastefully. All the rooms have beautiful, new fully tiled bathrooms with stand up showers, heat, air conditioning, TV's and comfortable beds. They are very friendly and helpful. It is located close enough to the major...

Stayed here for one night. Got the room right next to the lobby. The door handle was litterarly 2 feet away from the reception desk :D
The stairs, like a previous reviewer wrote, are indeed evil. It's a long way up, so not a place for the elderly or anyone with heavy luggage. When you finaly get up the stairs...

The shared bathroom was very far away from my room, but I never had to wait for it to be open. I paid less than what most hostels were wanting for a shared room, so no...

I booked a dorm bed at Soggiorno Prestipino and got moved to Hotel Giappone. I ended up paying 20 Euro a night to live in a very clean, nice room by myself. Staff were nice, location was unbeatable - only complaint is that it is at the top of four flights of stairs and there is no lift.

Price is very good for the location. Room is ok.
However, i was very surprised by the many flights of stairs i have to climb painfully with my heavy luggage. This would not be a problem if you are not travelling alone or if your luggage is not too heavy.
