This is a beautiful little B&B (just 2 rooms) off the beaten track in Tuscany. If you want to experience some true Tuscan hospitality, this is the place to go. This B&B is situated in Castelnuovo, a little village between Volterra and Massa Marittima. Our room was newly renovated and beautifully furbished. What makes this place special is it’s owner... We stayed at Pagliaore for 2 weeks and we had a fantastic time. The apartment is big, well equipped and decorated very beautiful. We spent a lot of time in the shadow of the trees in the garden looking at the wonderful scenery surrounding the house. With a car it is easy to come around and enjoy Volterra, Siena, Massa... More

We have just returned from a two week round-trip with a rental car in Tuscany enjoying the Tuscan summer. We spent 5 days at Pagliaore where the very kind Roberta took very good care of us. Due to the warm and hospitable reception we felt very much at home in the very beautiful apartment that was let to us. Pagliaore... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Pagliaore is a traditional Tuscan country house dating back to the 1600s, located on a hilltop that rises 650 metres above sea-level and is surrounded by refreshing and sweet-smelling chestnut groves. The vast rooms are furnished with great care and attention to detail, using period furniture and elements of modern design, tasteful decorative elements and elegant linens. Genuine hospitality, manifested in warm welcomes (helped by our knowledge of several languages) and in many other ways, is very important to us: the doors of our home are open to you as special guests, and not anonymous tourists simply passing through. We hope that you will cherish your time in Tuscany, not only for its magnificent landscapes, but also for its people. Perfect for relaxing, out-of-the-ordinary holidays. ... more   less
