Hotel Cavalieri, just on the other side of the evocative island Ortigia, is an ancient noble palace of the eighteenth century, has been completely restored in 2012 by the hosts-architects-owners, creating a new boutique hotel with an elegant, modern and fresh style, combining atmosphere and scents of Sicily and offering a precise, contemporary comfort. Particular attention was paid to the recovery of the ancient arches and columns and the use of local materials. The hall, for example, is paved in Modica stone of warm yellow colour, and Pece stone, both typical stone's of the Baroque of the Val di Noto. The two opposing colours, the clear and dark, form together a particular geometry, inspired by the ancient paving of monasteries and churches of the seventeenth Sicilian century. Stopping a moment in the lobby, you will feel that the place is unique: the noise of the city goes out, you will be aware of the presence-absence of Siracusa and of a quiet and homely atmosphere. The Sicilian sun, rain and clear, becomes the protagonist.
