This should be your choice of hotel, especially if you are attending a play at the teatro greco. Close to fantastic archeological park and the stupendous museum,also about twenty minutes walk to ortygia, the old city. Hotel has friendly and helpful staff who speak multiple languages, rooms are comfortable, breakfast is fanstastic and plentiful and varied, especially the fresh fruit!

We were visiting the Archeological sites in Siracusa. This hotel is within walking distance of them all. Parking is free if outside but still gated. Staff was very helpful guiding us to each of the sits.

The Mercure chain of hotels are the up-market version of the Ibis. This hotel needs a personality upgrade but does have all of the amenities that one could need in marked contrast to most of the hotels in Sicily. This is a very good hotel, with well appointed rooms. It is close to the archialogical sites and has great views over the city of Siracusa. The breakfast is excellent and the roof top pool great. The only down-side is that it is the other side of town to Ortigya and the majority of restaurants.
