Do not recommend this hotel to travellers who care about the interior, cleaniness and comfort of the room they live. It's a kind of a hotel you don't want to go back after a day spent on touring the city. Its only positive aspect is perfect location. An extremely shabby, run-out, neglected hotel, in need of serious renovation. The pictures... More

A very plesant hotel where the staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The room was very large and even had a couch. The bathroom was nice and very clean. Towels and toiletries were changed everyday. the hotel is about 20-25mn away on foot from the main station, and is easy to find. It is off Via Roma, the main... More

I really can't recommend The Mediterraneo. We have just spent four nights there and our room (158) overlooked a very small street (alley) with rubbish bins just outside our bedroom window. Every morning between 06.00 - 07.00 the bin men arrived to clear the rubbish (from the whole street?) and made the most horrendous noise, chatting away, clattering, banging. Avoid... More

The building itself reminds one of what might have been cool in the 70s, but now seems quite outdated. So does the reception hall. The two main positive issues about this hotel are: its location (1-2 minutes walk from the splendid Teatro Massimo) and the size of the room. Being a solo traveler, I was given a double room that... First I have to say that the service was excellent. I am italian so I don't know if the people at the front desk speak proper English, but I have to say they were kind and helpful in many ways. I was in Palermo for business (I did not choose this hotel, I was placed there by those who organized... More

I came with 5 other nursing students, and my professor. We stayed in the residence side of the hotel, so we had our own kitchen and bathroom. We stayed for a month, and it was perfect for what we needed. I'm sure we could have gotten a better deal, but my professor trusted this hotel. I can see why-- the... More

I would not recommend this hotel. The rooms were small and the showers even smaller. There were at least 150 high school students from Rome staying there. They partied all night! The staff was not friendly. The only thing this hotel has going for it is location. You can walk to almost everything from there. More

Kind of 70-ies, uninspired, large, and not terribly clean. Caters to large groups, by the looks of it. In spite of a lot of flags not very proficient in English, but OK. Staff did not seem very interested. We were stuck in Palermo close to midnight with a failed booking at another hotel, so we were happy to get a... More

We stayed here for 6 nights in late March 2005 and it was not a happy experience. On the positive side the room was clean. On the negative side, the room was very unappealing - bare with metal furnishings of the sort you'd expect to find in a hospital. We had paid for a triple room which was in fact... More
