A very beautiful hotel, with a very pleasant swimming pool. The beach is a bit dirty in low season, but a very nice environment all together. We did not hear a plane at all for a whole week there. The real high point is service, which is better than most places we've travelled to. The staff is very nice, helpful,... More

We stayed overnight as we had a very early flight the next morning. Definitely not a 5 star. The cab dropped us on the street and we had to wheel our bags to the hotel and finding the entrance was challenging to say the least. It is a 5 star, but there was no one to greet or guide us... More

I was really torn, selecting the rating of this hotel, because there are some amazing aspects of this hotel but some other aspects which were a real turn off. Let's start with the good: So the actual establishment is beautiful. The grounds and gardens are really gorgeous with lovely water features and the air literally smelt like flowers. We stayed one night in this hotel, before crossing over to visit Calabria. The entrance of the hotel is very impressive, the room was rather old-fashioned but very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was fine, in a beautiful, light-engulfed restaurant. Service was friendly and professional, as one would expect from a 5-star hotel.

This is a great solution, either for business or for holiday. The hotel offers really nice, comfortable and cleaned rooms, with a good selection of food and beverages at breakfast. Location is also great: close to the sea, to the city center of Catania and to the airport. Hotel Employees are very friendly and willing to support you! The atmosphere... More

I chose the hotel because it is situated near the airport and outside the city. No molestation by the sound of aeroplanes (sound-proof windows?). The staff at the reception was helpful and competent, the food at the heights of sicilian cooking, there was an agreable atmosphere in restaurant and bar, the waiters attentive and friendly. Shuttle service to the city... More

We chose the Romano Hotel because we wanted a comfortable hotel that could be close to the airport for an early flight. We arrived in the late afternoon tired from the road and all we needed was some rest. The room is spacious, with a small veranda and a good sized bathroom. The only downside is that the aircon didn't... More

Good location regarding beach...but a taxi ride costs 15 euro each way into Catania city centre (serious lack of bars and good eateries within walking distance of hotel)...Shuttle service available that costs 2.50 city tax per journey...shuttle service is fine but the last shuttle bus leaves Catania at 9:00pm to return to the hotel and you must book in advance... Not really sure why there are many complains for this hotel. We stayed in Romano Palace for 3 nights after staying staying 7 night in Villa Sant'Andrea in Taormina so we had high expectations and they were fulfilled. This hotel is easy to find and there is ample parking. The access to the beach (Lido Excelsior) is convenient. Yes the... More

This is simply not a five star hotel. Rooms are kind of ok, i dont really like the deco but this is a personal opinion. Service is plane terrible. Our room was poorly cleaned, amenities were missing, in the corridor a dirty breakfast tray stayed there for almost 42 hours, nobody picking it up. The hotel staff is unqualified. Breakfast... More
