My wife and I first visited Villa Las Tronas in October 2007 and I reviewed our stay on tripadvisor at that time. We have stayed here for a week at a time on six further occassions and will be making our eighth visit in June 2012 this time to celebrate our fortieth wedding anniversary. We have fallen in love with... More

Chose this hotel for a luxury much needed break, liked the location but in our opinion falls far short of 5* in many ways. We were very disappointed. Very tired, shabby and outdated, relies on its location, unique history and antiques for appeal. First issue for us was the steep incline from the car park, for someone with mobility problems... My husband and I spent a week at Villa Las Tronas for part of our honeymoon. From start to finish the staff were very dismissive and unfriendly. When we arrived we were left alone in reception for quite some time until a concierge came to assist us (the receptionists and manager were no where to be seen). We explained to... More

A ZTL (Restricted Traffic Zone) has been set up in Alghero which involves the old town, the bastions and the harbour. These areas are all situated north of Piazza Sulis, while Villa Las Tronas is situated south of this piazza. This means that tourists coming to the Hotel or leaving the Hotel for other places do not need to cross... More

Beautiful location on the tip of a little promontory, just a little too far from the old town on foot. Historic atmosphere and well restored. But we had a small naked room with no charm at all. Just a tiny desk with one chair. OK beds. No coffee or tea machine. And a dark bathroom. We arrived on a rainy... More

We had one weeks stay at the Villa Las Tronas and had one of the most enjoyable and relaxing holidays we've ever had. We arrived early on a Sunday morning and after a very quick check in we were invited to have a coffee/croissant before going up to our room - after an early morning flight we were thankful for... Always looking for something different in choice of hotel and location, I booked Villa Las Tronas in the town of Alghero for my wife and I. Sardinia had never really registered on my radar until I saw the hotel advertised on leading travel agent websites. Only a 2h30 flight from Stansted and with temperatures comfortably in the mid 20s, the... More

We stayed here over Christmas for a couple of days as a treat to ourselves and it was perfect. It's got a real touch of old world luxury and the rooms were lovely with chocolates left on the pillars and turned down every evening. The place was very clean, the staff were very helpful and courteous and the food was... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in February and can confirm Mike1958's opinion -the staff were very helpful and courteous especially when our flight was cancelled , and the position of the hotel is exceptionally beautiful. It was wonderful to have the spa just for us at 8.00 in the morning, and work up an appetite for the excellent breakfast.... More

We stayed at the hotel from 28th to 31st of January, in the dead of winter. The weather was not fine, it was cloudy and, even, rained most of the time. In spite of everything, the beauty of the scenery around the hotel had a profound impact on us. Not only is the hotel surrounded by the sea, its gardens... More

I have stayed at this hotel regularly over the last 10 years usually 2 or 3 times a year. No it's not cheap, but for complete peace and escape this is the place to go. Service is unobtrusive but efficient. I would describe the rooms as comfortable and individual, the bathrooms are a little quaint but that somehow adds to... More
