This 'hotel' was the worst place I have stayed in years. The patriarch pretended he didn't speak English when it was inconvenient for him, like when I requested two extra pillows, the front room was RIGHT on the cobbled stoned main drag of Verona, where the cars and trucks did not stop al night! I did not sleep at all.... More

Stayed there for two nights. The place is nice but set your expectations right - if you expect Holiday Inn kind of thing you will be surely disappointed. It's a family-run hotel, seems like it has under 10 rooms/ It feels more like staying in someone's large apartment rather than in a hotel. Owners (all the people there are a... More

I could not fault the service in this B&B but I thought it was extremely expensive compared to other 3 & 4 star hotels we stayed in throughout Italy. The location was fantastic for the Arena and the 3 generations of host/hostess couldn't have been more welcoming. However the breakfast was of poor quality (cheap yoghurt, diluted "sunny d" style... Had a lovely stay at this B&B. The room we had was spacious and superclean - one of the two rooms (no. 19 and 21) with a picturesque balcony. Friendly staff. Arrival by car: make sure you tell the B&B beforehand that you would like to park in their tiny garage. If you are a light sleeper, however, you should... More

Our first night in Italy, we stayed in Verona at "Al Castello". Our room was larger than expected and very clean. The Air Conditioning was excellent and we even got a little chilly! I suggest getting a map of Verona first before trying to find it. It is down the street from the beautiful castle. The entrance is on a... More

Had a B&B family run feel. Fantastic location for the famous arena....only a few mins away on foot. The hotel staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was more than adequate for us. The twin room we stayed in was very small but I think the others were bigger. The air con was brilliant!....which was good... More

We have just returned from a wonderful few days in Milan and Verona. Verona itself is almost perfect and Al Castello is almost perfect too. Situated on the first floor, accessed from a pretty little cobbled street and close to the beautiful Castelvecchio, the hotel is absolutely charming. Our room was very pretty, comfortable and immaculate - with our very... More

As in the title I did not get a chance to stay in the Hotel. Indeed when I called they told me that the room was available but the next day they called my back saying that the "misunderstood" some bookings. Well ... no words for that. Luca from Vercelli, Italy. More

I stayed here for a week before finding more permanent accomodation in Verona last year, and really enjoyed my stay. I found it thanks to my Footprints guide, and loved it so much that I recommended my mother stay when she came to visit (no small praise!). The staff were fabulous, very friendly and helpful. The owner spoke English, although... More

We booked this hotel on recommendation from a 'friend' for our wedding anniversary. It was extremely expensive, horribly shabby and tacky, and the breakfast was atrocious. Avoid like the plague. More
