You cannot beat this hotel for location, it's two minutes walk from St Mark's square and a similar distance from the main Vaporetto stop for st mark's. Staff were helpful and spoke English and whilst rooms have been recently refurbished the one we stayed in wasn't finished! We were in room 24 which clearly just until recently was a storage... More

This is the second time we have stayed here - the Hotel Rio's fantastic location alone is worth the cost. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak great English. We arrived early, but there was no problem leaving the bags until check-in. The Hotel is spread over three buildings very close together in a safe area of the... More

I was a little taken back by the creepy walk through the alley to get to the hotel room from the "reception" area, but it wasn't that bad. The room itself is small. Location is great though. Overall, I would say it's a decent budget hotel if you are only going to be spending a night or two there and... More

Our family of 4 (children ages 11 & 13) stayed here for 2 nights over the Easter period 2012. We had an adequate room with en-suite bathroom at the very top of the building overlooking a scruffy courtyard. There wasn't much space in the room, but it suited us for 2 nights. The location is extremely central and reasonably quiet.... More

There is nothing great about this hotel. This is a budget hotel for people that want to stay in Venice for 2-3 nights max, and know that they would come back to the hotel only to spend the night. Everything about this hotel is just average. The rooms, bathroom, bed, space in the room, furniture, television, hotel itself and breakfast.... More

We didn't know that Hotel Rio consisted of 3 properties located in 3 different buildings which are near each other when we booked our room. We only found out that the booking we made was for their 2 star property when we got to the hotel. The room we were given was located in the building behind the reception. You... More

The only good thing about roi hotel is it's location near St. Marco. Everything else is horrible. The room is stuffy and the airconditioner did not work. There is no closet in the room, and for soap and shampoo you need to ask every day. There price is very high. More

Our room overlooked the small plaza which can be noisy at night, but provides for a colorful and enchanting people watching. There is a restaurant which serves run of the mill offerings of pizza et al. Lugging luggages around Venice can be a chore, with all the bridges and steps and narrow alleys, so travel light. Staff is okay, but... More
