Perhaps my expectations were a bit high, but for about 150 Euro per night, I think we deserved more. Yes, the location was good, but be prepared to haul your suitcases over not one but THREE sets of steps that go over the bridges between where the vaporetti drop you off and the street where the hotel is located. Due... More

Hi, I'm sorry but Venice has more than 400 bridges, is a tough town, but I do not think it's the fault of the hotel. His room was on the third floor, if you said me that you had a big luggage,I could give you a room on the first floor or ground floor. In Venice there are no lifts,... More

Good location away from the crowds but easy to get to the best bits of the city. OK a small room but overall a good stay. More

In Venice, everything is expensive--it is an island! The young couple who run Ca d'el Dose work hard to give guests an economic hide away right near the action. It was quiet, steps away from the waterfront and tiny steps from a magical little square with church and locals, plus next door to a yummy trattoria. Can't ask for much... More

I stayed in a triple room which is actually around the corner from the hotel. There were two rooms on the first floor -one with a single bed, tv, closet, chair, mirror, and one room with a double bed, bathroom, fridge that didn't seem to work and breakfast area on a table. I must say, the location was great. Right by... More

We stayed at Ca del Dose because friends we were traveling with had stayed here six years before and really liked it. It did have a charming old world feel to it and the owners were very pleasant but that's about it. The room we had was on the top floor and there was no lift so we had the... More

Took a side trip to Venice while spending time in Tuscany. The rooms are a bit small, but it seems that most of the family run inns in Italy are all small. No big deal! Very cozy with a/c and tucked away off of the main street away from the noise. The owner tipped us off on a inexpensive(for Venice!)... More

Nice little family-run hotel in a good central location in Venice. Clean rooms, comfortable rooms, but tiny bathrooms (like a ship's lavatory). Excellent air conditioning in summer! Only a few dried crackers & jams in "continental breakfast" basket in rooms, but bakery & coffee shop nearby. No one available at desk after 4pm. No Internet access. Bring ear plugs if... More

Ideally located, small, clean, charming, and steps away from a secluded campo that seems miles away from the madness of the high season throngs of tourists disgorged from the cruise ships. Resonably priced, quiet at night, and with a genuinely welcoming and helpful staff. My first encounter with Venice and with Italy, and one I will never forget. More

We stayed here during the busy summer months when Venice is like a theme park with very few genuine Italians to be found. :) This hotel was quiet and peaceful, located in a small side street just a few steps from the water. It was clean and basic, and a comfortable place to come back to after walking all day.... More
