Just returned from spending 2 nights in Venice, the hotel Canaletto was in a perfect location for St Marco and the Rialto Bridge - both just about 5 minutes walk away. The rooms are decorated in traditional Venetian style and are spotlessly clean. Our room was so quiet and dark that we had to put on the alarm to make... More

We were a group of 6 - had two rooms, family and a double. Both were immaculate and fitted out in true style. Family room was big enough for x2 adults and x2 teenagers. Very clean modern bathrooms. Breakfast was great - big selection. Loved the position - lots of shops around and close to Rialto and St Marks. Staff... More

My husband and two children stayed here and were delighted with the room it's a no frills clean value hotel. We stayed in a family room which is really hard to find in venice two single and one double beds. The room was big for Venice, breakfast good and good location. Would recommend More

Of course the rooms are small! That's the deal in an old and beautiful city! But they are clean, comfortable, and secure. This was a really great place to stay with staff who made me very welcome. Their facility with languages was amazing. I stood at reception and heard one staff talking to 4 people in turn and switching fluently... More

This is a 3 star hotel. The rooms are small (typical Venice) but with a comfortable and clean bed. It lacks electric sockets. The bathroom is ok. Breakfast is an average continental with little imagination or style. Very convenient for St Marks and Rialto so worth putting up with the weaknesses. More

I really liked our stay at the Hotel Canaletto last March / April. The hotel is actually in a great location as everybody has already posted: walking distance to the Rialto bridge area (4-5 minutes) walking distance to the Piazza San Marco (4-5 minutes) very quiet area -- you will hear the noise level drop 50% or more the moment... Location is in walking distance of everything..easy to get to from the water taxi...cute venetian style room. Great breakfast. Only complaint is the two single beds with separate sheeting put together, not the most comfortable for a couple. Also shower and bath is very small. However for value for money and location I would be back and do recommend. More

We stayed 5 nights at the Canaletto last summer (August 2011). The room was booked through hotels.com. When we arrived in the evening we got a comfortable room but since the room was facing a tiny inner courtyard it was dark and felt a bit claustrophobic. I thought that there was no chance that we would be given another room... More

Let s face it! There is no cheap hotel in Venice. Unless you want to share bathroom or leave in a dump you have to pay much more than you would normally do in every other city of the world. Hotel Canaletto is great value for money as far as Venice is concerned. It s in the centre very close to... More

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at Hotel Caneletto last week. My only major complaint is the comfort of the beds. Ok, yes, I'm an American who enjoys memory foam and pillow top, but seriously, these mattresses are like wood. I don't think we slept straight through a single night. We kept waking up trying to shift around to... More
