At breakfast one morning, as Bruno, one of the owners, placed a couple of gorgeous cappuccinos in front of us, we happened to mention that we were taking the train that Friday to Bolzano for the final leg of our trip in Italy. He raised an eyebrow and told us that a rail strike was planned for that day. “But... More

We had the main suite for the first night of our honeymoon. We arrived to a beautiful display of champagne chocolate and petals with a lovely hand written card. Our room Located on the ground floor at first put me off until I realised it was due to the private sitting room with opening bay windows overlooking the Rialto bridge.... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in the Junior suite. Expensive - but well worth every penny! Service was friendly and kind. I really think if I had asked for a bevvy of mermaids to frolick in the canal for my entertainment every morning, they would have tried their best to arrange it! Such nice people. Breakfast was great, excellent... More

From the moment you arrive at their private dock to when you depart they will take care of you in sublime style. Friendly and warm staff day and night. Charming breakfast/afternoon drink room overlooking the canal and Rialto Bridge. Centrally located. Boutique feel. The place to stay. Only nine rooms so book early. More

I stayed here recently with my 12 year old son. From the moment that we arrived by water taxi we were treated to the best service that I have ever experienced. This family run hotel as adjacent to the Rialto Bridge and entered via a quiet little lane. Everything that the Matteo, Bruno and their family recommended was spot on.... More

From the moment you arrive at Al Ponte Antico you're greated by such warmth and gusto! The hotel is right in the heart of Venice, but sheltered from the hustle and bustle down a quaint little street. The hoteliers inform you of the building's history - a 14th Century Palace, no less, and the rooms are sensational. Breakfast is an... More

My wife and I stayed at Al Ponte Antico for four nights at the end November. This was our first trip to Venice and I spent quite a bit of time researching options online (including reading numerous TripAdvisor reviews). We were looking for a higher-end hotel with a room in the €400-500 per night bracket. In many locations this would... More

I have been to Venice 3 times. This hotel is the "top of the top", by far the best in Venice I've stayed in, but also one of the best hotels I've stayed in the world. The service of the brothers running their father's hotel was fantastic, in particular their recommendations for dinner were superb. The breakfast was also great,... More

Last October we stayed for 4 nights at the Al Ponte Antico Hotel. We found this wonderful boutique hotel through Tripadvisor. The hotel is located in an old venetian palace right at the Grand Canal and has been rejuvenated with a lot of love, taste and attention to detail. Our room was very cozy and the service was outstanding. The... More
