Husband and I booked a room on the Grand Canal from May 29-June 3, 2009. The room wasn't ready when we arrived (arrived on an overnight train from Vienna), but we were allowed a room to store our bags and freshen up until our room became available in the afternoon. The rooftop terrace has excellent food, the best hot chocolate... more

we stayed for new year. Good service generally and comfortable rooms although a little small and decor a bit tired in places. Slightly chaotic at breakfast as the breakfast room was a bit small for all of the guests. We would rate it a three star although the location probably pulls it up. We had a lagoon view but it... more

Dear Friend, I'm sorry you were a bit disappointed with our hotel. Concerning the decor probaly it's a question of personal tastes, as you can see the most of the other reviewers find it beautifull!!! The breakfast room os not small, we have tables for 3/4 of the rooms of the hotel. Usually you find tables for 1/4 of the...

We booked this hotel as a surprise break for our family, to celebrate our eldest son's 21st birthday (he has always wanted to visit Venice!) We were NOT disappointed in any way at all. The hotel was in an ideal location, overlooking the lagoon and just 5 minutes walk from St Marks Square. Don't be put off by the plain... more

My husband and i stayed here on our honeymoon. We had an amazing trip to Italy and stayed in 2 other hotels, one in Amalfi and one in Rome. Unfortunately this was not our favourite out of the three, but i would say that's not because the hotel was bad, it was our first experience of a boutique hotel, and... more

Dear Friend, thank you for you feedback! I'm very happy you specified the difference between our hotel and any other big 4 star hotel in the world. Fabric padded walls, electrically operated wooden black out shutters, Murano glass, a fabulous view, thick comfy robes and Vivaldi slippers, room service. Vivaldi would love it. We sure did. A bed fit for a princess! Also a pretty nice marble bathroom with a jetted tub. When we returned to our room on Christmas night we were amazed...the turn down service... more

My partner and i stayed here for a new year break. Our room was clean but small with a very small and uncomfortable bed, also the shower was only just big enough to get into, if you dropped something you had to get out to pick it up.Our room was on the first floor and the noise of the boats... more

Dear Friend, The dimention of our standard double rooms goes from 18 to 22 meter squares, bathroom excluded. The dimension of the showers is standard, as in every hotel of the world.! If you need a bigger room you have to book a Superior or a Junior Suite. The windows are soundproof and we have also shutters and drapes on...

the hotel has a wonderful location; easy to reach with the boat from the airport; the room with a view on the laguna is charming with view on the sun rise and sunset and a view on the everyday life of the laguna. It is however surprising that a hotel with such a standing does not have wifi connections! more

Dear Friend, thank a lot for your kind review! I'm sorry for the wi-fi, we are working on it and soon we will provide also that service. Happy New Year!!! Roberto

An excellent location coupled with a great staff made this a wonderful place to stay. The room was very roomy and comfortable and accessible by elevator. The staff were very helpful with recommendations on sight seeing, restaurants, and places to shop. The hotel's location made getting around quite easy and the view from our window was well worth the extra... more

Our second stay at Locanda Vivaldi was even more perfect than the time before. The location is just right for sight-seeing, dining, shopping and relaxation. The room we chose was superb, with views across to San Giorgio Maggiore and to La Salute. We cannot fault the staff at all, they are so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Our next visit can... more

So the service was very good, the room charming and with good views over the lagoon. The entrance to the hotel is bright and welcoming and the reception area pleasant, relaxing and with a discrete elegance. There's an excellent choice of international papers to read. The hotel needs to provide the guests with wireless internet, with that price it is... more
