we came in off a cruise ship and had a very inexpensive ride to the piazza roma. From there it is only a five minute walk, with suitcases. on leaving it was a relatively inexpensive ride to the airport. we used thre water buses in venice, and it was no more than a five minute walk to the grand canal... more

This hotel was a good choice. It was very clean, the room was certainly large enough for two women with plenty of luggage and twin beds. I think we had room 101 which looked over the small canal. We were a bit disappointed at first as there was something wrong with the a few rooms the first night, so we and other couples as well got bumped to other hotels close by. 500 years ago a rich man built a house feet from a canal. That house is now the Al Sole. We loved breakfasting in the walled garden and thought the quality and quantity of the food very good. Altought it's a 3 stars hotel,the service and the smile of the staff was for more!An old palace with beautiful facade.Our room was sma but clean. The best of all is the backyard you can have your breakfast under the tree!!!!!! It's a heaven for smokers and non smokers too!!! more
