We stayed at the Al Portico Guesthouse for a whopping 15 days. We had booked a 5 day stay and then unfortunately I was hospitalised with appendicitis and we extended our stay. The staff were so lovely, translating at the pharmacy next door for us, allowing us free use of their facilities like printer and fax, and advising us they... More

I really enjoyed my stay here - the staff are very professional, friendly and made me feel really welcome. The guest house is slightly away from the main tourist area (this a very good thing!) but it's really easy to get about from here & explore Venice with good advice from Marina! The rooms are clean, spacious, quiet & comfortable.... More

staff is fantastic, location is unbeatable, decent breakfast (ask to serve it on the roof deck!). rooms are worn out, do not look like on the hotel's website at all, but if you are in Venice, you don't spend time in the hotel, right?) More

My partner and I stayed at Al Portico for 4 nights in October. Marina's welcome was very pleasant (both very friendly and very professional), and her advice on restaurants and how to get a discount on boat fees turned out to be very helpful. We paid 120€ a night, which by Venice standards isn't much and for the price I... More

This hotel was a dissapointment and at € 360 for three nights, I would not say it was a bargain. But I must mention that I have never stayed in Venice before so this may have been a bargain compared to other places in the city. The hotel was not easy to find but we were able to walk from... More

Dear guest, We are very surprise, as meanwhile your stay I did not have any notice of your disappointment. Actually we only meet at your check-in. Please note that ants are very frequent in summer period, mostly where there's plants or people leave some food around. I am sure my collegue put some spray everytime he saw them or you... More

I Have now stayed at Al Portico Guest House four or five times over the last few years and have always found it to be very clean and friendly. The rooms are well funished and comfortable. The staff are very helpfull if you need any information or directions. The position is ideal away from the main tourist area yet with... More

Close to the train station and to other quiet, less touristy and highly recommended parts of Venice. No breakfast but there's a great little "cafe" around the corner for pastries, coffee and juice in the am. They serve and espresso whenever you need one anyway. Our "room" (for a couple and daughter) was actually two adjoining rooms with a balcony,... More

There was no; breakfast, no TV, no telephone. Also advertised there was Wifi, but we never got a connection. The reception told us if I couldn't connect then overall the building did not have internet, which was a lie because they were using google maps in the office, while I was attempting to connect. Also after 2pm or whenever they... More

Dear Guest, Please note that we do have Wifi everywhere in the building, for some reasons is true it works better in some places than in others. The internet in the office's computer has nothing to do with the WIFI because it works with cable connection. Reception is always opened until 3 o'clock most of days and sometimes until 6pm.... More

A great hotel with a wonderful staff , who provided recommendations for things to do that helped maximize my short stay in Venice. Overall, it's clean and centrally located. I will readily recommend it to a friend. More

This hotel was in a nice location, right off the main drag, but tucked away so it was quiet. The air conditioning was the best thing about the room. After walking around all day in the heat, it was truly a blessing to be able to really cool off. The room was a nice size and the bathroom was huge,... More
