Pros: very helpful staff, great breakfast, good coffee, parking. localisation Cons: lack of ventilation, veeeery slow tap (waited half an hour before filling the bathtub, til the water got cold), didn't like the interior (old, but not nice style), internet only in the lobby, tiny elevator, dark corridors More

This hotel was OK for a two-day stay in Padova but it doesn't deserve the four stars (although it is priced as such). The location is ideal, just opposite the St Antonio Basilica. However we were disappointed by the breakfast: no hot food, no fresh fruits, and the food on offer was of poor quality. Also, you hear everything that's... More

Have just returned from a week long stay at The Hotel Donatello in Padua. Ideally situated approx 50mts from Basicilla Saint Anthony and 1.3km from bus and rail stations. The hotel itself has 44 rooms, some smoking if required are available but these face out onto a back courtyard and the view not very impressive. The room we stayed in... More

Perfect location, across from St. Anthony's basilica, 2 steps from everything else including the Scrovengi Chapel, yet you feel as if you're in a small, peaceful town. Excellent accomodations for the money; knowledgable, friendly staff. More

Solid 3 star hotel w/free parking (by advance reservation), breakfast, & wifi hard by St Anton and close to public transport. Comfortable rooms w/ a/c. Good breakfast. Good value for money. Nearby tram goes directly to the train station (for Venice or Verona). More

Stayed here for two nights at the end of our touring holiday, and it was great. We had booked a panoramic double to spoil ourselves at the tend of the hols, and we weren't too disappointed - only that the balcony was so small that you couldn't get on it!! Mind you it was so hot we kept the windows... More

I was in Padova for business in March and split a 2 week period between Hotel Donatello and the NH Mantegna (also reviewed). Although there had not been a recent review, I chose this hotel primarily because of the location. It must be stated that this is a very traditional european hotel and does not have many of the bells/whistles... More

I should have sent this review months ago and I apologise to the Donatello for not having posted this review sooner. After our holiday to a hotel in Rome had been cancelled at very short notice in September 2006, my wife and I had only a few days to rearrange our family holiday. Suitable hotels at short notice in Rome... More
