My wife and I spent a lovely Easter Weekend at the Hotel Aracoeli. It is quite tricky to get to with luggage, as the street it is on is off-limits to most cars. If you can find a taxi at the station (Orta Miasino, cabs advertise by the phone booth right outside) you should be alright. The hotel doesn't have... More

My wife and I stayed in this quite modern hotel in this beautiful part of Italy that oozes history. The owners have tried to make this hotel a little bit more interesting than your standard hotel room by installing some quirky features. The first of these that people will notice is that the hotel itself has no reception. The reception... More

Let me preface this by saying we stayed here and had the place virtually to ourselves as it was off season, the town was really quiet. This place is absolutely magical,  we spent 2 nights here for 105 euro per night which included fantastic breakfast ,wifi and parking up in the streets above the town, you cannot park in Orta. The hotel... More

They say position is everything so that would make this quirky hotel just that. Right in the main piazza where you can see the lake from your balcony – albeit at an angle. Our room was very large, with modest furniture, some weird lighting and a couple of seats. One seat is a denim bean bag. The bed was very... More

This hotel has a number of clear up and downsides. To start with the positives, the location on the main square is second to none. The breakfast is furthermore very extensive for Italian standards and the rooms are spacious, clean and have an OK design. There are also a number of negatives. Because it is on the main square, it... More

Fantastic breakfast spread - cakes, charcuterie, cheeses, fresh eggs for omelettes, breads and lots of lovely fresh fruit. This type of breakfast is a rarity in Italy so it stood out during our trip. The hotel itself is comfortable, with a great location and several odd design quirks which may annoy some. We had a big room with a balcony... More

If you want a stay to remember this would be a place, no single detail in a room would be like in a ‘hotel’. We loved #707 on the 4th floor with its weird transparent showers and an in-room fountain. Breakfast is an experience in itself, highly recommended for travelers in this beautiful city of Orta

The rooms are big and each room is designed differently. We wanted to book ahead to choose what seemed to us like the best room, but couldn't reach them either by email or phone (the phone number seemed disconnected, and they didn't respond to email). The mystery continued when we arrived in Orta San Giulio - the booking desk isn't... More

Overrated, overestimated and overpriced. I was waken up at 5 am by the people in the room just above my head and although they were not especially noisy I could hear the "zip" of the suitcases and the noise of their every steps. Very poor finishes and very cheap design: already decrepit tiles and a bad need of a fresh... More

The hotel is located in a beautiful town. Rooms are clean and different. Full of nice details. Hotel emplacement is amazing. Superb breakfast. Wifi only on the entrance which is also really nice. "Free parking" is about 15minutes walking.. althought you can stop for a while in front of the hotel for the luggage. It's ideal for holidays.. maybe not... More
