We stayed at the Residenza Ortensia, run by the Hotel Rigoli, for 3 nights in July 2005. The building contains apartments - we had a studio and a 2 bedroom. They are spacious and clean, and have full kitchens, at a very reasonable price. Pro- lots of space, very clean, easily walkable to dock for boats to islands. Con- my husband was bothered by street noise, and the "beaches" on Lago Maggiore were dirty. I would recommend it for folks with families on a budget at Lago Maggiore- but would, if I returned to the lake region, probably stay on a cleaner lake, like the tinier Lugano.
