We just returned home from a lovely vacation in Sirmione - Italy. We stayed 4 nights at the hotel Porto Azzurro. Located between the centre of colombare and Sirmione, this hotels offers a nice restaurant and swimmingpool. The renovated rooms are nice and spacious enough for two adults. I have no remarks what so ever about this hotel. The service... More

Although the hotel is not well sign-posted it was easy to find due to a large sign on the building. The staff speak good english but almost as soon as we arrived they were trying to get more money from us by trying to up-grade our room from a 'design' to a 'classic'. We eventually settled for a lake-view room... More

It advertises as 3 star and that is what it is, comfortable, clean but with few frills. Buffet breakfast was very good and room pleasantly cool (with the air con) after being out in the 30º+ heat. Good parking, 5 minute walk to the new town which has several eating places (mainly pizzerias) and 25 minute walk to the old... More

The positives: a good sized, clean room, more than adequate breakfast, lovely (though cold) pool, good parking facilities, reasonable location for walking into new town for meals and just a short drive to the old town. Good base for exploring the area. The negatives: upon arrival we were told that we could not stay in the double room we were... More

Quiet area but within 500 meters of good restaurants. Hotel food OK but we like to venture out, not a problem. Good clean accommodation and nice to sit out on the balcony at night. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, they remember you and what you like; but English is obviously a minority, not the hotels fault, and we got... More

This hotel is not in the main part of Sirmione and I was concerned it might be miles from anywhere! It isn't. We were the only English couple in the hotel - others were German and Italian and it was lovely - really quiet - we had the pool to ourselves on some days. The walk to Sirmione was lovely... More

We were 4 friends, - 2 twelve year old girls and their mothers, staying 3 days at Porto Azzurro in Sirmione and we enjoyed every minute! The staff was very friendly in a pleasant, relaxing way making us feel comfortable and welcome. The garden with the nice swimming pool was well kept and the perfect place to enjoy a cold... More

We stayed at this hotel in July for 7 days, First impressions were OK, until we were shown to our room. The room smelt of moisture and raw sewage ( maybe it was the maid? you will understand if you read further down) . The sheets had some disturbing stains on ( not to mention the array of pubic hair)... More
