A romantic haven in the most wonderful location. The impressive buildings, lush gardens, pretty pool area, light airy rooms and location to the town are the pluses. The rude staff who are only interested in a tip, the bathroom noise (you can hear everything that goes on in the room above you and I mean everything), expensive lunch by the... More

Been there in August 2011 for a couple of days. Impressive entrance as you have to drive first through millions of tourists in the old town before a massive iron gate is opening the driveway up the hill to the hotel. It is an old palazzo and this is actually the overall motto of the hotel. Everything has a bit... More

We actually visited here in 2005 but it won't let me put that date in but I just wanted to share our wonderful experience with you all. We booked Villa Cortine Palace for our wedding and got married by the local mayor at Simione register office. The hotel had wanted to cancel our booking as it was late - out... More

We arrived at the Villa Cortine after struggling through the madness of mediaeval Sirmione on a Sunday afternoon. The great iron gates open silently onto a driveway split by a roman fountain that then weaves uphill through beautiful gardens to the hotel. The escape from the crowds in Sirmione and the beauty of the gardens make the tension of getting... More

Booked this through a recommendation. I arrived to find out that it is in the old town and access is restricted to those people who have reservations - it was an interesting drive through the tourists! The hotel is very nice - I had a junior suite and the view was very nice over the pool and to the lake... More

We have stayed at the Villa Cortine 6 times over 20 years and have witnessed its evolution from an extremely exclusive unique experience to a more ordinary but definitely more affordable one. The change can be calibrated by the value of the automobiles in the car park. The Lamborghinis have become Mercedes. It has always been somewhat shabby chic but... More

Four senior family members spent a week at the Cortine Palace as a celebration of a very special birthday. Everything trip advisor had said about the setting was spot-on; it was quiet, secluded, beautifully landscaped and endlessly interesting. The pianist playing outside at breakfast time was heaven and complemented the ethos rather than being an unecessary diversion. We found all... More

If you plan to visit Lake Garda, which is not the prettiest among the Northern Italian lakes, make sure to stay at this hotel. It has a privileged position inside the walls of the medieval town and having been an austrian nobleman private villa it is surrounded by a large beautiful ornamental garden facing the lake. From this garden you... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and in the beginning, when you face the impressive entrance gate and drive through the wonderful park before approaching the hotel it seems like entering a wonderful oasis. Unfortunately though the outside promises too much and soon we found ourselves in a rather old but very expensive hotel in dire need of... More

For other Italian towns, it may take me quite a while to find the right hotel, but not for Sirmione. This is our first trip to Lake Garda and I have chosen Sirmione and Riva, for a taste of the lake's southern and northern atmosphere. Right choice! After a 13 hours flight into Milan, a 45 minutes bus journey to... More
